The girls are back

Hooray, the Monday night quilting group is back! Now that school is back so are we. We meet fortnightly, usually at Angie's house, and work on our own projects.
............................................

Angie was making lots of cups of tea and after looking through my "100 blocks" "must have" magazine, found a block pattern to make some small quilts for the children at the kinder where she works.

Liz was working on her Christmas star. She said it was unfinished from last Christmas but I prefer to think that she is planning ahead for next year!

Annie was at war with her quilt. A beautiful piece made from Japanese fabrics but the quilting was driving her mad. Lovely Sylvia has taken it home to make some adjustments and sew on the binding. Annie has lost all affection for this quilt and it made us all very sad because she really has done a wonderful job.

Jo is working on her tie quilt. She has collected, and has been given, many old ties which she is hand piecing into a quilt.

Anne is working on her Pies and Tarts quilt

Robyn just keeps churning out the compasses in her reds and purples.

And I just keep turning my diamonds into stars.

And of course, with a cup of tea we must have some treats. The highlights were Anne's meringues and Jo's banana cake. Anne says she hates cooking but I find that hard to believe with these results.

So we are back for another year and next Saturday our monthly Bluegum quilters return. We are in for a busy year as we are planning our exhibition in November. Hope my stars make it.
