Last week end we were lucky enough to have a week end away to the sea side town of Sorrento. Sorrento is 112 kms (69.5 miles) south of Melbourne, with an enticing little shopping strip, a lovely bayside beach on one side and a surf beach on the other.
However, we were on a mission and ladened with sewing machines, fabric and lots of food we set to our task.

Sylvia had picked up two quilts from the quilter and was keen to finish the bindings on both of them.

Angie bought a quilt kit on our sewing trip in May and was keen to make it into a quilt top before she went home.
Christine was helping Robyn design a quilt.

Christine spent a lot of time helping all of us with our projects, but in between she worked on her own projects and played around with miniatures. These little hst are 1/2 inch finished or less!

I was working on some stars for my Small Quilt Challenge and 31/2 inch nine patches for a swap that I have joined. I must confess that I have become smitten with some of the colour combinations of these nine patches and will selfishly keep them for a project of my own.

On Saturday night Christine made these delicious chocolate mousses for us. Not only can the woman sew, she can cook too!
Robyn was our master chef and organised all the food for the week end. Friday night we had salmon steaks with asian salad, Saturday lunch was an antipasto spread with crusty bread and ham, dinner was roast chicken with indian spices and we finished with a Sunday lunch that was a combination of all the left over food - potato, roast pumpkin and bacon frittata with a crisp, richly adorned salad.

We did actually venture out of the house for some shopping therapy, cappuccino and a photo opportunity.

I am enamoured of spots at the moment and couldn't resist this little scarf. With spring just around the corner it seemed a very fitting purchase.

Then we had to go home:(
My FRIENDS swap partner Mary is having a give away so pop over and try your luck. There are also some very cute Christmas themed items to be found on her blog.
