Fabric Mail

A lovely surprise sat waiting for me in the mail box today. I subscribe to a bi-monthly mailing of 19th century fabric samplings from a Melbourne quilt shop. Each piece is 16 x 10 inches. They are from the range Civil War Homefront by Barbara Brackman for Moda. I received a pattern as well within the fabrics. Will this inspire me?
There is something very comforting about working with fabrics from a range. Us "colour cowards" don't have to agonise about what goes with what.
One of my projects this year is to play with colour and build some confidence in colour choice instead of running to my "colour expert" friends". Any hints?
