A Day In the Country

On Saturday us city girls left behind suburban streets, smog and traffic congestion for the fresh air and open spaces of the country, to visit "The Gisborne Girls".

We met Sue at the patchwork shop in Gisborne, Patch N Quilt. The shop has recently relocated into a lovely new space and we had no trouble spending our money on beautiful things.

Irene was working at the shop and one of her beautiful designs greets shoppers as they enter the store.

Before leaving we posed for a photo (courtesy of Sue) and then drove to Tracee's home for lunch.

The table was beautifully set, the food was delicious and the company was wonderful.  We were treated like quilting royalty! Unfortunately Marina forgot her tiara.

Lots of laughter was on the menu and after much organisation, and discussion of dance styles (note pole in centre of photo), we managed a photo before leaving.

It was a fabulous day. Thank you Gisborne Girls.
We will have to venture out into the country more often.
You can see more photos on Tracee's, Sue's and Marina's blogs.

Starting Christmas 2014 preparations......
I am linking in with Narelle's one Christmas Item A Month again and January's item is my table runner.

Narelle has started a separate blog for the monthly Christmas items.
So if you are looking for any Christmas ideas or inspiration, check here.

What fun…the new space looks very inviting, though given how much bank account damage I could do in the old space maybe I'd best not check it out without a concerted savings plan effort first!!…shame Marina forgot her tiara *LOL*…the table runner is lovely...

Maypole Dancing was it Elyte? What a fun filled day you had and the christmas table centre looks very nice. Perhaps I need to add a christmas item to my list of things for the month.
