Sunbury Quilt Show

I have found it hard to get to my blog recently because mum has been in hospital for the past 10 weeks. She is home now and doing well.

So life is a little less hectic at the moment and on Sunday I took the opportunity to enjoy a day out with the girls to the Sunbury Quilt Show.
We joined forces with the Gisborne girls and treated ourselves to a fabulous display of quilts by a very talented, warm and friendly group of quilters in Sunbury.

There were lovely displays on the stage,

and some of these products brought back memories of childhood.

Food is always a priority and strength was needed to continue around the hall.

Sue took lots and lots of photos of the quilts and they can be seen here.
We were all very impressed by the Sunbury Quilters' shirt challenge. What fabulous results from men's old shirts plus one additional fabric.

We shopped and chatted and made plans for future projects and then we just had to eat again.

And no, we did not get thrown out of the quilt show. We made our way into Sunbury, in a very ladylike manner, and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Olive Tree.

What happens in the Olive Tree, stays in the Olive Tree.

Not too much sewing going on but there is a little secret project on the go.

you all have so much fun... the show looks fabulous... it's always rather fun seeing the stuff from our childhood... not sure I like it when they refer to it as 'vintage' though???

So hope your mum makes a full recovery. That is a long time to be in the hospital. Hard on you, too. Glad you were able to take a day for some quilting fun. And it looks like you did have fun! Love the quilts made of mostly men's shirts. What a great idea.

Good to hear your Mum is out of hospital, hope she continues to get back to her old self. Your day out with the girls looks like a lot of fun, and the way you are all dressed up warm, maybe winter has really set in down your way....look forward to seeing more of your new project!
